E. N. HATHORN or Edward Nicholas "Nick" HATHORN (Abt. 1805 in SC - 1863 in Covington Co, MS?) married Elizabeth BRYANT (Abt. 1805 in SC - Aft. 1880) Abt. 1825. They had four (4) children: Unk HATHORN, Robert C. HATHORN, Unk HATHORN, William N. HATHORN.

Robert C. HATHORN (Abt. 1825, in SC and buried in Covington Co, MS) married Keziah KNIGHT (Aft. 1850), daughter of Albert KNIGHT (Abt. 1793 in GA) and Mason RAINEY (Abt. 1805 born in NC) Abt. 1833. They had eight (8) children, including Daniel B. HATHORN.

My great-grandparents: Sol Myer HATHORNE (April 20, 1884 or several other close dates February 06, 1961 or 1967; buried in Pounds Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA) married Amer (or Omer or Oma) WHITE (December 18, 1886 - November 15, 1962; buried in Pounds Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA). They had several children: Woodrow, Mary Esther, R.V., Minnie, and Truman HATHORNE (my grandfather).

Truman HATHORNE (Dec. 18, 1907 - Oct. 3, 1974, born in Taylorville, MS in Covington Co. and now called Smith Co.) on June 1, 1930 married my grandmother, Sarah ("Sallie or "Sally") Elizabeth LOTT.
I have LOTTs on both maternal and paternal sides of my family. See Descendants of John Lott.
They lived most of their lives in Bogalusa, LA. They had four children: my mother, who I did not know, Geraldine Hathorne (Feb. 22, 1932 - Nov.6, 1964), Robert David (married Patsy KENNEDY; children: Robert David, "Sissy", "Dirk"), Janet Sue (married "Jerry" APPLEWHITE, twice and they had two sons: Max and Vernon Wayne APPLEWHITE. Janet Sue had a couple more marriages), and Brenda Sue (married "J.W.", John W. Magee; children: "Tammy", Tamela and "Pam", Pamela).
My father, John Eugene McCLENDON, Sr., 1st marriage was to "Jerry", Geraldine HATHORNE (both from Bogalusa, Louisiana). They had two children, John Eugene McCLENDON, Jr. and myself, Patricia Darlene McCLENDON (born in News Orleans, LA). I have no children. John Eugene McCLENDON, Jr. has two children one by each marriage. 1st marriage was to Yvonne ____ and the child's name is Yvette McCLENDON. (Yvonne remarried to a man named MacFARLAND or McFARLAND, I believe.) John Eugene McCLENDON, Jr.'s 2nd marriage is to Patty KUROSAD (of Osseo, MN area) and they have one son named Cody McCLENDON. They live in Minnesota.
My mother, who I did not know, Geraldine HATHORNE (Feb. 22, 1932 - Nov.6, 1964) was the daughter of Sarah ("Sallie or "Sally") Elizabeth LOTT (April 16, 1911 - Sept. 6, 1994, born in Sandy Hook, MS) and Truman HATHORNE (Dec. 18, 1907 - Oct. 3, 1974, born in Taylorville, MS). They had three other children: Robert David, Janet Sue, and Brenda Sue. See
My mother, Geraldine HATHORNE re-married to a man commonly referred to as Joseph MIRANDA. (Jose Miranda ROCCA) and they lived in Chicago, IL until her death. He then moved to News Orleans, LA. I would love to learn more about my mother if anyone knew of her.

The Daily News, Bogalusa, Louisiana Friday, October 4, 1974 Obituary Truman Hathorne Bogalusa – Truman Hathorne, age 66, a resident of 1610 Main Street, Bogalusa, died yesterday at 8:30 p.m. at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Crown-Zellerbach Box Factory. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sally Lott Hathorne; one son, Bobby Hathorne of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Burkett of Pascagoula, Miss. and Mrs. Brenda Magee of Bogalusa; two brothers, R.V. and Woodrow Hathorne, both of Bogalusa; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Adams of New Orleans and Mrs. Esther Spiers of Orange, Calif.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the son of the late Sol and Oma Hathorne of Bogalusa. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Poole Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Ponemah Cemetery. My earliest known Hathorne ancestor is Dan (or possibly Daniel) Hathorne.
Dan Hathorne (? - ?) married Mary H. Craft (June 22, 1854 - October 19, 1941). They had at least one daughter and one son, Sol M. (Myer or Mir) Hathorne (February 02, 1885 - February 06, 1961 or 1967) who was born in Taylorsville, Smith County and who is buried at Pounds Cemetery, Washington Parish, Louisiana. Sol Hathorne's Form SS-5 shows a birth date of April 20,1884. He lived in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
