CRAFT (June 22, 1854 - October 19, 1941; LA Death Index - Volume: 31, Certificate: 13483. Bogalusa, Washington Parish, LA; buried: Pounds Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA) Abt. 1871. They had eleven (11) children, including Sol Myer HATHORNE.

Mary H. CRAFT was the daughter of Joshua Bryant CRAFT and Charity Pamela DUCKWORTH

Later, Daniel Brewster HATHORNE married Mae Sumrall.

J. Kent Hawthorne <jkent@thegrid.net> wrote in a recent e-mail in which he sent the above two photos :

Here are the pictures of Dan Hathorne's grave in Lucedale, George County, MS, along the Mississippi-Alabama border. It's on the road between Mobile and Laurel. I'll get the name of the cemetery and directions from my brother. The first photo shows g-g-granddaddy's marker in relation to the surrounding markers, and the second is a close-up of the maker itself. It appears that he is not buried with either of his wives, which may tell something of the way he lived. According to records, he had children with both his first wife, Mary Craft and his second wife, Mae Sumrall, overlapping by some four years. According to Gary Hathorn's research and the books on Sullivan's Hollow, Dan Hathorne led a very colorful life. Sadly, it seems he now rests alone for eternity. -- snip -- Good luck in your research, and let me know if you find any more information on Edward and Betsy Hathorn. -- Kent
